Be sure to disable this option to allow ASDM to download. On OS X, you may be prompted to install Java the first time you run ASDM; follow the prompts as necessary. I have problems connecting to ASDM on my ASA. The client always hangs on 'Load Cached Software'. SSH connection works great. As far as I can tell this problem first occured since I upgraded to the interim update because of the RCE vulnerability two months ago.

I have noticed there is the ASA software image 9.8.2(28) release some days ago. Anybody knows about release notes?

A restart of the ASA fixes the problem for a few hours, then the same error again.

I have tried it from a Windows and a Linux client, connections fails from both at the same stage.
